Mosie Triplets!!

When my wife and I decided we wanted to start trying for a baby, the idea of IVF or even IUI (mainly the cost) was very disheartening...let’s be real, it’s a lot of money! I remember driving in the car one day, looking over at my wife, and saying, “what if we tried at home?” This led to a Google search and quickly finding Mosie Baby!

We were lucky enough to have a friend offer to donate sperm to us, a luxury I know not everyone has. Once he was on board with how we wanted to try to conceive (him coming to our house for a fresh deposit) we were ready to go! We tried four times with no luck. I went through fertility testing. My labs weren’t great, but we wanted to keep trying. Our donor gave us some bad news as well. His sperm was tested again, and the results weren’t good. The doctor told me the only way to conceive with this donor was IVF. I was devastated to say the least.

This led to our donor’s brother stepping in to donate! We couldn’t believe we were so lucky to have another person offer to help us start a family. We tried three more times, again no luck. At this point I had finally accepted the fact that IVF was in our future. I had started doing some more testing to get ready to start the process. But I asked the doctor for one last try, this time doing a medicated cycle, something else I hadn’t really wanted to do previously. But I thought, why not try just once. I was given Letrozole, but was told my body may not respond to the medication well. I was also seeing an acupuncturist who specialized in fertility. I just wanted to try everything I could! My ultrasound before the trigger shot showed three follicles, two good, one not so great. The doctor tried to convince me to do IUI, but I declined. I wanted to be at home!

We inseminated for the 8th time the Friday before the Covid-19 lockdown in California started. A few days later the stay at home order went into effect, and I had nothing to do but sit and wait to test...the longest 16 days of my life! I made it 14 days before I tested...immediately positive! I tested two more times the next two days, both positive, darkest line ever.

We couldn’t believe it. I honestly thought I’d never see a positive pregnancy test! And we did it at home, on our couch! I had my first ultrasound at 7.5 weeks. The doctor's first words to me were, “Well, there’s two! It’s twins.” My wife was on FaceTime, and her face was pure shock. I started laughing. We had waited so long for this news and now we were having two babies! We couldn’t wait.

Fast forward to my C-Section...we went in expecting twins, and left with triplets! Three girls! They found a third baby that had gone undetected for 35.5 weeks! Again, pure shock! Three babies, conceived at home, using a kit from Mosie Baby! We love telling this story because most people assume we did IVF. The girls are all doing great and are 5 weeks now. They are beautiful and perfect, and we are so in love.

Thank you Mosie Baby!
